waterways

All water is connected. Rivers, streams, lakes and oceans, as well as groundwater and source water, wetlands and estuaries. They form a network of waterways that is always changing, always in movement. Water is a fluid territory with undefined and blurred borders. It can potentially connect all places on Earth with each other - uniting them or dividing them. Camilla’s practice revolves around exploring, documenting, tracing, and mapping these fluid and indefinite landscapes. She has been experimenting with the technique of casting aluminium in order to document the ephemeral traces of water. The solid yet fluid pieces construct a map of a possible waterway that questions how territories are defined by borders and how limits can shift. She complements the aluminium casted waterway with an indefinite atlas that can offer the viewer a flowing, imaginative and personal journey through landscapes and waters. The photographs all derive from her personal video archive, which she has been constructing from collected waters and landscapes. Places to disco- ver, places to connect and places to call home.
