Love Letter to Grotto
“Love letter to Grotto” is an immersive installation that investigates the long neglected space of the grotto as an ideal place for utopia. The starting point for the project postulates the necessity of changing perspective in order to survive the ruins of capitalism. One must cultivate a new sensitivity and learn to find allies in unexpected places, where we would never have thought to look. “Love letter to Grotto” is an installations of textiles suspended from the ceiling forming the threshold of the cave, and a circle of sculptures in dialogue with eachother. By attributing a voice, the ceramic stones attempts to reverse the idea of dead materia or passivity, commonly associated with the mineral world and caves. They have been given agency of their own and is an attempt to revive the forgotten place we once worshipped.
